Jeff Mills started ~1983 at WDRQ 91 FM Fresh Mix. He sent them mixtapes over and over again till they decided to let him do the mixshow. They gave him all the free records he needed for his shows, but there was a condition: He had to keep his identity as a secret. When he went to WJLB in 1985, he was the highlight of Mojo's show "The Midnight Funk Association". Later Mojo moved to 96 WHYT and The Wizard was on air Mon-Fri at 10pm and midnight (twice a night), with only some repeats per week, till his last show on 1989-12-31. His mixing technique: He recorded mixes on tape before in the "Tape Pause" way and mixed over them in the studio where he used 3 decks and sometimes even a 909. Info posted on Discogs by needlz
